For some reason they thought I had money. “There he goes, get him,” one man yelled! But somehow time stretched out real long, and the guy with the gun in his hand stood frozen to the floor. I slipped out the door behind him and escaped. I ran two miles, from Chicago Avenue and Central, all the way home to Division and LeClaire. I hadn’t run that far in a long time. I had a good time. When I think of Blues Larry's show was what I think of. He sang 'My last 2 dollas, one for the bus and one to play the Blues and that was all I had in my pocket. One to ride the bus and one to get me a snack for lunch. I could really relate. I just loved it.
